\u00d6mer Yurtseven made it to where every young basketball player dreams of reaching: the NBA. And not just any team, but one of the most iconic, the Miami Heat.<\/p>\n

Now, that alone would be a lifetime achievement for any athlete, but \u00d6mer is not just any athlete. He is a gladiator who, even after achieving what seems impossible, chose to go further. His goal was to contribute to sustainability and help eliminate plastic from the ocean. He wanted to find a way to connect a problem like marine pollution with something as inspiring as sport.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s how, in 2023, he created Swish for Change<\/strong>, a platform that recovers discarded, broken, and abandoned fishing nets from the ocean and restores them into basketball nets.<\/p>\n
